"Rolls-Royce of the sea", "Stradivarius of boating" are just some of the expressions used to describe the famous Riva Aquarama spécial, the flagship of the Riva range at the time!
A true emblem of the Mediterranean coast, the Aquarama and its "super, special..." variants were produced in 720 units from 1962 to 1996. This powerful twin-engine boat has so much charm and elegance that it's been compared to Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. The Riva Aquarama was born in the summer of 1962, and was undoubtedly the most famous of all RIVA models. After a secret gestation period, the Tritone assembly line is interrupted and hull no. 214 is removed and transferred to the area reserved for prototypes. Carlo Riva and his designer Georgio Barilani begin the transformation of the Tritone. A passageway is cut in the deck between the transom and the sundeck to facilitate access to the water and allow the owner to move away from the beaches to more peaceful coves. In August 1962, the Aquarama is transported to Monaco for its first sea trial. The test pilot was Giovanni Agnelli, the all-powerful owner of FIAT. The tests are deemed satisfactory. The first Aquarama is christened LIPICAR I, an anagram of the first names of Carlo Riva's three daughters: Lia, Pia and Carla.
The name Aquarama evokes both the panoramic view reflected in the chrome contours of its windscreen and the new vogue for cinema on giant screens (Cinérama). From 1962 to 1971, 288 Riva Aquarama were produced, powered by 185 and 220 hp Chris Craft and Riva V8 engines. Speeds reached 75 km/h or 40 knots. The Riva Aquarama underwent an evolution known as the Super Aquarama, built between 1963 and 1971 in 203 units, with more powerful engines ranging from 290 to 320 hp. From 1972, a new evolution appeared, called Aquarama special with its characteristic transom. It was produced in 236 units until 1995. The longest Aquarama, at 8m75, and the most powerful, with 2 350 hp engines, remains the flagship of the range.

If you require delivery on an exact date, this option is available at checkout, at an additional cost of €5.00
Deliver on Specified Date only allows selection between January and November, for orders delivered on mainland Malta. It does not apply to Christmas orders, orders to Gozo or international orders.
Collection:
During checkout you also have the option to collect your purchase. The collection point will be listed at checkout depending which location your order will be processed from.
Collection is free and the processing time for your order being ready for pickup is usually after 1 full working day from when you placed the order (excluding Sundays and public holidays). We recommend calling us before you come to collect to ensure your order is ready and waiting for you.
