"The Robust. This robust blend of Syrah with Cabernet Franc typically conveys forest-fruit on the nose with undertones of tobacco, black and bell pepper. Due to the heavy humidity at night in late August 2017, we decided to harvest the Syrah early in September alongside the Cabernet Franc: this to mitigate the risk of downy mildew setting in the intensely compact bunches of our Syrah clones. The fruit was already ripe and the sugar enough to yield 13.5% alcohol by volume.

Compared to older vintages of this blend, albeit still very young, this vintage is open, forthcoming, well-rounded and ready to drink. This said, its length in the mouth and structure augur that it will age with grace for at least a decade. It carries forest-fruit and plum on the nose with a subtle undertone of anise which tends to grow wild on this terroir. The spice of the Cabernet Franc comes through the ripe fruit of the Syrah. As I taste this wine, I think moderately spiced lamb tagine, truffle, mushroom and gorgonzola risotto, roasted pumpkin, beef stew, BBQ… Owners’ Tasting Notes – May 2019"

For orders over €35.00 a flat delivery charge of €5 applies - If your order is below €35.00 the delivery charge is €9.00. Gozo Deliveries are processed and delivered at our next availability, which is usually within 2-5 working days, excluding public holidays. This may be longer during busy periods.

Deliver on Specified Date (Only available January to November):

If you require delivery on an exact date, this option is available at checkout, at an additional cost of €5.00

Deliver on Specified Date only allows selection between January and November, for orders delivered on mainland Malta. It does not apply on orders to Christmas orders, orders to Gozo or international orders.

Collect from Store:
During checkout you also have the option to collect your purchase from our store at Block 14, Portomaso, St. Julians, STJ4013 Malta. Collection is free and the processing time for your order being ready for pickup is usually after 1 full working day from when you placed the order (excluding Sundays and public holidays). We recommend calling us before you come to collect to ensure your order is ready and waiting for you.
